Thanks for visiting our web site. We are an active, working UKC Hunting Retriever Club, consisting of over 75 members. Most of our members live in the Grand Rapids Michigan area, though we also boast members from all across Michigan and as far away as Ohio and Indiana. Our club holds monthly meetings which consist of the review of  club business and planning our monthly activities. 

GLHRC members own a variety of hunting dogs including but not limited to; Labrador Retrievers, Golden Retrievers, German Short Haired Pointers, Brittany Spaniels, Chesapeake Bay Retrievers, and  Münsterländers.  We all share a common love of  training retrievers and other working breeds for hunt tests and hunting ducks, geese and upland birds.

Our hunt tests are held locally in Fenwick, MI and Freeport, MI and we offer weekly training sessions.

You will find that our members possess a range of experience levels and are eager to help handlers who want to improve their dogs and learn new training skills. If you are new to the sport and want to find out what it's all about we are here for you. We can also offer help locating trainers if you prefer professional help and often know about litters of  puppies available for someone who is looking to add that special hunting or hunt test partner.
